Pathology Subspecialty

Genitourinary

The genitourinary pathology subspeciality division of Hospital Pathology Associates covers diseases of the bladder, kidney, ureters, prostate, testis, penis and adrenal glands. Our team is made up of seven senior pathologists with experience in genitourinary pathology. Some of our pathologists have academic appointments in the University of Minnesota Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and teach pathology residents in genitourinary pathology. With over 50 publications, national presentations and international society memberships, the team brings a depth of understanding to current genitourinary pathology.

The focus of the genitourinary pathology division is to apply the current knowledge of pathology along with special testing, molecular studies and advanced clinical process information for the best whole-person care for our patients. This includes active engagement with our partner urologists, medical oncologists and radiation oncologists, along with participation in genitourinary tumor boards, urologic oncology steering committees, medical staff leadership and training of the next generation of pathologists.
