Pathology interpretations of skin specimens are performed by Hospital Pathology Associates, PA, the largest private practice group in the region. HPA’s division of dermatopathology provides timely, accurate interpretations and is currently lead by Dr. John Jones, a Board Certified Pathologist with over 30 years experience and a long-standing special interest in dermatopathology.

Dr. Jones is supported by the Allina Medical Laboratories, which includes world-class facilities for:

rapid high quality production of H&E stained slides
digital imaging
clinical immunohistochemistry
direct immunofluorescence
flow-cytometry
molecular diagnostics

In addition, he interacts with world-renowned Hematopathologist John Strickler, fellowship-trained Soft-tissue Pathologist Lisa Lyons, and experts in every aspect of clinical and anatomic pathology. A consultative association with Dr. Daniel Vandersteen, a Board-Certified Dermatopathologist, also exists when expert second opinions are needed.
